XA's and their family tree are tough to fix, especially these days-- a lot of factory techs have retired and parts are restricted to another camera, frequently. Only foam seals are easy to replace. One thing about the XA: if you are concerned about meter accuracy, it pays to shoot a test roll. The XA has TWO meter circuits-- one for the VF display, and one that controls the shutter. They are independent. So if your display meter is all wonky, the camera might still expose accurately. I love my XA, but I think of it as a disposable in terms of maintenance.
