Does anyone know where I can find an XA specific foam kit? It may be more difficult to find, but I don't have much time these days, so having something pre-made would make things easier for me.

I've searched eBay with no avail. If it comes down to it, I'll have to just buy some foam (where?) and cut the pieces out of myself.

If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks,

Jason

Edit: Bah, after a quick Google search, I was led to a few ebay auctions. So, are there any preferred vendors out there?

Edit: Well, it seems like "interslice" on eBay is a trusty vendor. I purchased a kit from him. Sorry for this thread! It can be deleted

Search for user ID 'Interslice' on ebay. Best resealing kits on the market.

<edit> Ah! I see you found him!

If you can't find any pre-cut pieces, I have a few hundred acres of self adhesive black foam at work which would probably do fine.

If you (or anyone else) wants some, send me a PM with your address.

The foam is between 1 and 2mm thick - I will measure it tomorrow.

Steve.

Wow Steve! Acres of foam is quite a bit of foam

Andy, I just ordered from interslice. He seems like a favorite on APUG. I'm not too great with my hands, but I'll hope I do a sufficient job

The kit from interslice (Jon Goodman) will have specific instructions on doing the XA, and Jon will communicate very well. You will be very happy. Just read carefully before you start.

I'll add a belated "thumbs up" for the "Interslice" kit. It's simple (no fancy packaging), but the instructions are clear and the kit is effective. I've done two cameras with mine so far, and I've still got material left over.

I just received an e-mail from Jon. It was very personal. Something you really don't see too often with eBay. I'm glad I purchased a kit from him!

Update:

I have measured the foam we have here and it is 1mm thick (including backing paper) and comes on 1200 mm wide rolls.

It has a very srong adhesive on one side.

If anyone wants any, just let me know.

Steve.

Thanks for the kind offer Steve!

Jon Goodman has been incredible. Despite his busy schedule, he sent me an email (not the automated kind!) to make sure everything was square away, and he sends his regards to APUG as well.

I am glad this is working out for you...I bought foam kits from Jon for my 3 Yashica Electros and Mamiya M645. He is great to work with. He can also supply instructions for cameras not covered in the book. Good stuff!
