It's odd that the other Olympus Trip thread popped up the day I decide to ask about this.

I bought one around 2009 that wasn't working and had it CLA'd. It functioned fine until at least 2016. I took it out last year and noticed that the aperture seems to be stuck now. I'm now debating whether to just sell it or try to get it fixed. I hate zone focusing and I'm trying to not to become a camera hoarder. If I did elect to get it fixed, who is the US does a good job with these?

Olympus made several "Trip" 35mm cameras, and the original version can be found on EBAY for $25. Finding someone who would even try to fix your camera would be difficult -- and cost much more than a replacement.

I'm aware that it's not a valuable camera, but there is some sentimental value attached. However, it is enough of a cult camera that I know there are places that refurbish them, just not sure where to go. Whether or not it is worth it would be up in the air for me.

Just coming back to this with an update to help anyone looking for repair in the US.

I found retrofocal on ebay, and he did a very thorough job. He fixed the problem I was having along with some things that were mildly botched with my old servicing (by an amateur I guess). The turnaround time was very quick.

Most Olympus Trip 35 cameras bought used need to be serviced, so even though this costs some money, it's nice to know it should work for a long time. Plus, I don't think I have ever found a recently serviced one for sale under $150.
