I remember the day I met him at Olympus camera Corp. when it was in Woodbury NY. He didn't speak a word of english but was happy to etch his name into the back of my OM-2. John

Indeed. This is very sad news. His legacy of designing some of the best 35mm cameras ever will truly live on forever.
