Olympus OM10 question.

Hey there! I found a great OM10 at a thrift store yesterday with a Zuiko 50mm for 10 bucks. I replaces the batteries with some energizer 357 and I had to take the bottom cover off to unstick the shutter. Everything seems to work except the battery check function. The light meter works and the self timer beeps and the light comes on but the battery check function isn’t working. Any advice?

The 50mm lens is a beauty. Back in the day a standard prime was the norm and f1.8 is light years ahead of the zooms of that era and better than most now. Get a manual plug in adaptor and you are set. For cheap additional lenses, look out for these that slip under the radar. Vivitar 28mm f2.8 and 135 f2.8, both made by Komine with serial numbers beginning 28####. They are top quality fast prime lenses that can be had for bargain prices. The only other thing to look out for is the door seals. They may need replacing and it can be done at home with a kit. I never used the battery check on my OM20. If the lightmeter worked the battery was fine. The 50/1,8 lens is nice.
