I recently bought a used OM series Zuiko 28-48mm f4 zoom from KEH (classed as "Ugly" because of some fungus on one lens surface). The problem I am having is that when I set the lens to infinity, the focus is way beyond that. I need to dial it back to 1.5 meters on the focusing scale at 28mm and 5 meters at 48mm. The resultant pictures are quite nice when I manually focus as needed, but when I pre-set the lens to infinity, it is out of focus.

I am wondering if, at some point, somebody tried to repair the lens but reassembled it with the focus ring out of normal position. Any other thoughts on what might be wrong?

One other problem is that the lens requires re-focusing when zoomed. Is that normal for this lens?

Thanks,
Bob
