If it's unmodified you will just see wires going to the battery terminals with no diode inline.

It's conceivable that the diode is elsewhere but next to the battery chamber is probably the easiest and most logical place to put it.

Thanks all for your reactions. It shows there are enough options to choose from. I just got the camera, so I will expose some film with it (and check exposure with a hand held meter) and see if everything else is ok and than maybe have it serviced as that's what I do with most used camera's I get, just to have a good chance it will work for a long time.
