Olympus OM-10 - Battery Cover Stuck

Hey, I've got this Olympus OM-10 and it seems that the battery cover is stuck. I'm not sure if it's cross threaded, but it won't come off no matter what I try. The On/Off/Battery Check switch is also really loose, which is also a problem my girlfriend is having with her OM-10. Would love some insight.

How old is the battery, maybe it leaked and corroded the cover on. Try swabbing it with some mentholated spirits.

You can remove the bottom cover plate to access the battery and to determine if theres corrosion.

No corrosion, it's a relatively fresh set of LR44 batteries.
