Old versus New TRI-X 320 sheet film

seems like I'm having a new beginning with the left over tri-x that I bought in the nineties....primarily for use with alternate process; plat; lodima and now salt printing....I'm realizing that it is as good or better than the new tmy400;which I seem to find a bit fussy and either the film is a little defective or it's me; but the same photo taken with my tri-x comes out with no marks on the negative. Is anyone else having these issues with the new tmy400?; mine is from Glazers in 5x7
I'm interested to find out what's the difference between the old tri-x that I have and the latest version that is out there...is the film changed much?? has the linearity changed? I think the reciprocity is improved slightly but would sure like to hear it from those that have used both films and presently use the new tri-x.....

Pete,I have been using 320 TXP in 5X7 sht. did not know that kodak was making any other film for 5X7.

Mike...the 5x7 TMY400 was a special order that Glazers in Seattle did for the Large Format community.....do you have any opinions about the new version of Tri-x? did you ever use the older version...

I used the old TXT and currently use TXP sheet film. I don't find them vastly different, but I haven't done careful side by side tests. TXP has somewhat tighter grain and also the magenta dye that is found in T-Max films, requiring longer fixing, washing, and possibly the use of a hypo clearing agent, sulfite, or Permawash.

Sorry Pete,but this is the first box of 5x7 tri x I've used,bought it new at Freestle this month.Going to contact print the frist negs now.Yes the dye is there.
