others like having their hands on some old clunker
( or masterpiece ) weathered leather from hands
passed down or purchased ..

what was the last thing over 50 years old you used ?
a scale?
film?
camera?
tripod?
retouching desk and leads?
dry mount press?
tray rockers?

My 11x14 Century No. 1 view camera made in 1900, my 4x5 B&J Speed Press from the early 40's, my Zeiss Ikon Netter 6x6 from late 40's, and two Kodak Tourist 6x9 folders.

My daughter wanted to go fishing this morning; so I took along my little Zeiss Ikon Contina IIa since I have been meaning to give outdoor fill flash a try. Also did a little woodworking this afternoon using my Delta Homecraft tablesaw and various old or antique planes, chisel, and scrapers. I need something to put this old Graflex Photorecord lens and shutter on.

First off, my eyes, hands etc.

For objects, most recently was my block plane, don't remember if it's a Stanley or Millers Falls.
Few planes that are less than 50 years old are worth much for actual use.

Photographically, last 50+ camera I used is a Canon L1 rangefinder, and a more or less equally old Nikkor 50mm LTM lens.
Pretty soon I'll be using stuff that I bought new that's over 50, if it hasn't happened already.

I don't know exactly how old it is, but I used my Crown Graphic today at a car show. I'm still a few years short of 50 myself (YIKES, it's way too close).

my father-in-law's Meopta Flexarette IIIa dating from 1950. He died last week so I thought I'd run a roll through it and shoot some of the folks who came to town for the funeral.

for the folks listing cameras they have recently used that are older,
do you have any photographs from these cameras you have made ?

i hope using doesn't mean as a paperweight, or something to put a toothbrush and toothpaste in when traveling

Either my Zeiss Ikon Contessa 35, the folding gem, or my Voigtlander Vitessa L with that wonderful Ultron F2. I like folders, and these are stellar examples. Wish I had a '55 Chevy BelAir convertible, cream and green, with the iconic V 8 to cruise with either camera. Oh, I'd take Flora, my Lovely Wife.

Yes, I use my old cameras to make photographs. I have lots of prints - thousands. However, I have no scanner or other way of posting them online.

99% of the time I interact with this forum using my smartphone. On the few occasions I've attached a photo, it's by photographing a print or a camera using my phone, then transferring the photo to a PC at work and posting from there. I don't want to be doing that very often.

I have a Zeiss Ikon folder from 1937 I frequently use. Last week I was using my Contax F (and discovered it has a little leak on the closed left of the rear door).

Most of my film cameras are over 50 years old - and generally 'well loved'.

no worries .. use means different things to different people ...
after all one can purchase a vintage 8x10 camera repurposed as a lamp
it's good to see you have a way to get your images online ... if needed ...
