I‘ve been doing film photography for a pretty long time… it has been a hobby that became a profession and back to hobby. I’ve gone to school for a photography degree. Dropped out. Worked in multiple professional labs. Done documentary, architecture, product, modeling head shots, street, a few weddings… I now do b&w photography that i develop and print myself. 35mm and (recently) subminiature are the formats I use most. I was searching this site today for some film development information and decided to join.

Welcome to analog old codgers anonymous. I always get usable start times for different films at the Massive Development Chart at digitaltruth. Reasonable start time and then tweak. You know this. I also carved out a living with cameras and now am piddling with antiques and black & white.

Right, I usually do a film test in conjunction with my enlarger… just trying to get a ballpark with ORWO un54 and fx39ii. Also Studional and diafine. The film seems a lot like plus-x which had some strange development times. also, MDC times don’t seem as reliable as they once were due to people scanning vs wet printing I presume.
