I joined here in 2017, but just realized that it would be nice to be able to post some of my pictures. I just found out why I couldn't and that has been remedied. Now it's off to the races, so to speak.

My name is Kenny and I've been taking pictures since 1976, when I was 15. (Don't try to add up all those years unless your calculator has fresh batteries.) After a couple years, I was developing my own film and freelancing news pictures to all the local newspapers - they even let me use their darkrooms. Then in college, I majored in photography and haven't looked back since.

I like to collect cameras and I try to use every one of them in my collection. Some other aspects of photography that turn me on are: My collecting focus right now is on the Minolta X-300/X-370 (and upgrades) and as many different clones that were made in the Chinese factory that took over production for Minolta back in the 1980s. I'm up to about 30 different bodies now. The reason I chose Minolta is because I bought my first really good brand new camera back in 1978, a Minolta XD11, and I still use it to this day. It's been berry berry good to me.

Another thing I like to do is to shoot with as many different brands of film as I can. Foreign films (i.e. outside of America where I live) and store brand films. Now that drugstores and grocery stores don't carry much film these days, I have to find old, expired films of theirs online and see if I can get some usable results from them. I have about a 95% success rate because I try to get a couple rolls of each brand so that if adding exposure lengths based on the age of the film doesn't work for the first roll, I have a better idea of how to get the next roll to turn out "useable/postable." Oh, and I develop all my own color and black and white film. I even like to tinker around with developers. I created one for black and white film that uses some of my homemade blackberry wine. That turned out pretty good.

And one other thing I like to do is this: Family and friends know I collect cameras, so they're always giving me one they found in the attic or basement. A lot of these cameras either don't work anymore or they don't make film for them anymore. I just love love love trying to find a way to get that camera to take a picture, so that I can say I've used another one in my collection. I've had really great success with disc cameras, (which I never shot with back in the day), so I'll close with a shot from one of them:
