So,

I got myself ugly, dirty and cheap Hektor LTM. With cleaning marks, foggy, dust inside. And test results are better than expected.

It is not good for a Miroslav Tichý project that I am working on it - but conclusion is that it is a very good portrait lens for small change.

Darned good lens, w/ that classic old time Leica look! Heard they were far better than some people say, and your shots prove it.

I wouldn't want to argue w/ that duck.

It's surprising how much dust and damage a lens can suffer before it has an impact on image quality. There's that famous series of images somewhere posted by a camera gear hire place using a lens which had suffered multiple cracks to its front element. Scuffs, cleaning marks or small gouges seem to make very little difference!

Neat shots, but all I really want to know is, "Why a duck?"

Like most/all of the Leica lenses that I own, my 135mm Hektor is a better "picture taker" than I am. I use it on an M2/M3, Visoflex 1 with bellows and tripod, and can focus it all the way from 1:1 to infinity without changing anything. Works fine as it has for the last 50 years. Now, as to subject matter, in my part of the world, that "duck" is called a "goose", a European variety, I would imagine but a goose just the same. At last I have been able to put my degree in Biology to use here on APUG......Regards!...Of course if engineers call it a "Duck" here, I guess that is what it is.....

Excellent lens and I want to buy same lens for my FED. It has a lots of qualities , look at the sea , it looks like a glass , there is no distrubtion in anywhere ,it can take lots of abstract pictures like ralph gibson or that french guy I cant remember now. Tonal degradation , light distribution , grain distribution , cleanless and sharpness of lines and smooth extreme small grain and the goose is looking excellent , it looks like drawing. You can think about the qualities and go from there. And there are lots of shadowy details everywhere. Color will be excellent , they still cant make these lenses. Its small dagor and very sad to see these lenses are that cheap.

Thank you all for your comments. For film I used cheap APX 100, lazy development in Rodinal 1+100 semistand for 60min. Those are negative scans, soon I will print some on paper and post them.
Duck/goose: often when I go in center I bring old bread with me and give it to the birds. It is some kind of tourist attraction, because you have hundreds of birds waiting there, and lots of tourists taking photos of screaming birds. They don't have any fear from people and they are good for test photos .

Start of a good hobby and finally get your hand an leitz or leica binocular for that hobby. If I was living in architecture , sculpture rich area , I would not touch a camera but a Leitz bino and living live in the leitz world , Anyone must use a leitz lens long time to see what can it does or anyone have to use a leitz bino and jaw drops , really ! 1990 or earlier ones.
