They used to have actual filmstrip projectors. Like a slide projector but for film strips
They were used a lot in schools in the 50's and 60's

Oh, that brings back memories. As a kid I had a rather small projector that wasn't motorised. You fed the film and simply used a knob to move it forwards and backwards.

Some of the film strip projectors could be used with mounted slides too.
Really fancy ones could be connected to a phonograph and they'd advance the film automatically to sync with an audio presentation. (or else the teacher advanced the film when the queuing "beep" happened on the record).

Filmstrips are single frame [aka half frame] 35mm format.

Not over here. Here they were full format, horizontal orientation.

Some projectors had a slide-stage that could be exchanged for a spooled-film stage.

Ha well I'll be dog gone... I don't remember where I got these from, but someone sent me a u-tube of the projector. My mom or aunt may have had one... who knows I never throw anything out, it may be in the shed. Have to take a look when the weather turns back to normal Arizona clear skies.. :whistling:
