The Canon FD 50 1.8 lenses were basically body caps for years, but now they're expensive. The 50 FL 1.8 lenses are cheaper, but it's been a long time since I used them, and I can't figure out if they're presets?

My AV-1 camera is aperture priority only. It has no DOF preview, and no way to manually stop down a lens. What I want to do is focus wide open, and then stop it down (w/ the front FL lens ring?) and let the camera decide on the shutter speed. Is this how these lenses could be expected to work on an aperture priority camera?

Ah, many thanks. If all else fails, read the manual.
