Can anyone tell what oil(s) could be used to lubricate a Spotmatic F linkage for the mirror and other area’s? It seems to like to hang up below a 15th of a second, but not all the time. In looking around P forum I read an excerpt mentioning this problem and that it may need oiling.
Secondly, if I can’t find my needle oiler who carries them nowadays.

… so what oil(s) are you using in that kind of situation?

I’d probably opt for a Swiss synthetic clock oil on linkage but very curious of what works for you. Break-free synthetic might work but is thicker.

I use Neoval Rubin G8 as a general purpose oil. It's relatively inexpensive, and doesn't seem to have an expiration date, whereas more specialized oils for wristwatches often do. I apply it using a Bergeon 30102.04 ("Extra Large") oiler.

The mirror linkage in Pentax cameras runs dry. At least, service manuals don't call out any lubrication points. If they are sticking the solution is disassembly and cleaning. Any latch points or high friction points are lubricated with grease. Generally, only points that are involved with the release of the shutter are oiled, so curtain rollers, curtain wind gears, high speed cam, etc. The mirror return gear on the bottom of the camera can also be oiled because it is directly linked to the closing curtain but you should disassemble it and clean the shaft first.

Nyoil is a good one to use.
