Odour of Ilford Rapid Fixer

Can anybody tell me please how strong the odour of IRF is? I have not ordered a bottle yet and want to avoid a rude surprise.

It's not that bad, the concentrate smells a little harder but it's nowhere near overwhelming, just a faint acid smell. (unless you put your nose directly over the bottle).

Haven't used the stuff in quite a while, but it's not bad at all as I recall. Once you dilute it down to working strength there's hardly any smell at all.

Thanks! I want to use it to develop my FB-prints so odour would be an issue.

Once diluted it does not really smell. Directly in the bottle it is exactly like white vinegar.

Some people are more sensitive to odors than others, but I don't notice the odor.

I have to admit that I really like the odour of fixer, as long as it does not smell too strong :-D

IMO its one of the pleasures of the darkroom, that first wiff of fixer as you open the door
