Obtaining concentrated solutions of phenidone and its derivatives in anhydrous solvent - phenidone, concentrate, solubility, developer

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimethyl_sulfoxide
The solubility of phenidone in dimethyl sulfoxide is up to 0.75 grams per ml. Those. up to 75%.
Dimethyl sulfoxide is sold in pharmacies in the form of aqueous solutions and also as a concentrate. Common trade name is "Dimexid".

What would be the advantage compared to a phenidone in propylene glycol solution?

Thanks for sharing this piece of information. It surely is nice to have as high a concentrated solution as 75% from a storage point of view. Such a solution should have a long shelf-life to be practically useful. Is it known from previous research that phenidone solution in DMSO has long shelf-life? One would think that multiple freeze-thawing cycles might have significant effect on shelf-life. Given that DMSO is a mild oxidizing agent, highly hygroscopic and has a freezing point of 19 C, what is the shelf-life that one can expect to get in non-laboratory conditions?

Much more soluble. Convenient to make concentrates "1ml". Those. if your developer requires, for example, 0.42 g of phenidone per 1 liter, make a 42% solution and add just 1 ml each time as needed.

With propylene glycol as the solvent it is possible to make 4.2% solution of phenidone in such a scenario and use 10ml. Not sure if a 42% solution in DMSO is going to offer me more convenience.
