Hi all,
While doing some work tonight and reading through the NY Daily News coverage of last night's game, I found the following:
http://www.print2webcorp.com/news/nydailynews/DailyNews85th/20040628/p01.asp
This is a Daily News special celebrating 85 years of publication. Anybody think that Page 1 photo is somewhat familiar? I'm pretty sure that's the same stock 127mm Ektar on mine, although I can't seem to find the Kennedys on my lens!
Aside from the recognition factor, I think this is quite nice in acknowledging the pivotal role of Weegee and countless other photographers who made "You are There" journalism what it is. All it takes is your first experience with a 4x5 handheld to realize what an amazing amount of talent these guys had to get the grab shots they did, with almost no margin for error. Hats off.
cheers,
fil
