NPC Forscher ProBack Polaroid back question...

Hi, I just bought one of these for a Nikon F4. Was very cheap so thought I could have some fun with it. Being 2nd-hand I'd bet it won't be coming with any instructions, though I reckon I'll be able to figure out loading it from the diagrams inside it.

Now, I'm starting to look around at getting some old Polaroid or still-current Fuji instant film for it in advance. As you know, it can still be had. Only, I don't know what to get for this kind of back. There are so many different types, different kindstypes/sizes, numbers numbers, 600/664/665/553/669/SX-70/700/635/637/Spectra/Type 87/Type 53/Fuji Instax/FP-100B/FP-3000B...... and apparently there's one that you can make a neg out of...... I really haven't a clue which way to go!

Which is what is which, and what's gonna fit in this back of mine??

Can anyone advise me on this please? I'd be most grateful. I don't want to buy a bunch of stuff on Ebay only to find it's the wrong bloody size.

Also, say if I buy from the US, is x-ray on shipment to here gonna stuff it up?

Fuji instant film is not compatible with backs that take Polaroid instant products.

I don't have usage experience with the Forscher back, but my first guess is that it takes the 664 and 665 and 669 films. You might simply open up the back and take a measurement of the interior dimension of the pack which it can accomodate.

Fuji instant film's not compatible, eh? That's a shame, because that seems plentiful. I guess I have to wonder if these backs were made exclusively for Polaroid products. Can anyone else enlighten me on this & my other wonderings above?

Fuji FP-100B FP-100C and FP-3000 in the 3.25x4.25 size will fit. None will produce a usable negative.

I'm able to use Fuji FP-100C/B in an NPC Polaroid back for a Hasselblad.

From an Inside Analog Photo Radio Podcast interview with Aaron Muderick back in June 2009, he describes how to get a negative from the Fuji instant films - basically you keep the throw-away part and apply bleach until you get the negative and fix it. I haven't tried it yet.

He takes photos of people on the street, gives them the photo, and then makes a negative later.

Wonder if it can be done with B&W, either FP-100B or FP-3000B....... given that in my case it's done on an F4 back so the image is tiny to start with.
