I have a ZEISS/IKON IKOFLEX 1b with a 75mm 3.5 NOVAR. I cannot find a definitive answer as to what company made NOVARS.

Why does it matter?
Take some pictures.
See what it can and cannot do.

Zeiss-Ikon
Most likely manufactured in their former Goerz plant.

It doesn't matter it is merely curiosity as there seems to be conjecture that it was either RODENSTOCK or STEINHEIL.

On the net there are hints at Rodenstock, Steinheil and Hensold. In old optics literature however Zeiss-Ikon themselves are listed as manufacturer of the Novar.

With the forming of Zeiss-Ikon the optics production of Goerz was strongly reduced. This may explain that the Novar was not produced at Goerz.

Thus both stands may be true: pre- and post-fusion !

Though that with the fusion Zeiss-Jena did not take "home" that Goerz optical production seems enigmatic too me.
