Nova Washmaster Eco

I bought the Washmaster Eco 12x16 from Nova's website recently. I would like to wash mainly 9.5x12inches prints but thought I'd buy the bigger format in case I print bigger. In the instructions manual it says:
Washing of smaller prints is possible by suspending prints on the
Nova Clip (supplied) or if left to float freely.

Shame they only supply you with One Clip!
Has anyone found alternative ways to wash smaller prints and... this might be a stupid question... but does anyone know how many 9.5x12 prints you could washed in the 5 Slot washer?

I routinely wash 8x10 prints in my Washmaster Eco and have never needed to use a clip. The prints tend to float near the top of the slot and are easily removed.

As to your second question, I'm not sure it's a good idea to put more than one print in a given slot so I would say you can theoretically wash up to five prints at once. However, Nova recommends that you insert the print with the emulsion side facing the textured surface of the slot divider, but the last slot has no textured side. So I would say the washer only really supports washing up to four prints at a time.

Regarding this additional feature:

The WASHMASTER-ECO incorporates a rapid water expulsion facility. This means that the user can turn off the mains water supply and leave the print to soak for several minutes before raising the dagger blade to let all the water come out of the outlet. This method is preferred by some professional users in order to reduce wash times and expel ‘fixer contaminated’ water more quickly.

Before I bought the washer, I spoke with a guy from Nova and he said a lot of people do it this way.
Is it how you normally use it or you have the water on the whole time?

Sorry for all the questions, still have to figure out how to use it! Will test the water flow tomorrow and hopefully it will make some sense!

That feature is for quickly removing excess fixer from the paper before starting a full wash cycle. I don't really use it for that purpose. When I remove prints from the fixer I usually put them in a tray, fill the tray with water/dump it a couple of times to remove excess fixer. Then I use a hair dryer to dry the print a bit to simulate dry down. If the print looks good only then will I bother to fully wash it.
