Who makes nova black and white film? and who here has shot on it?

Is there anywhere in the us that sells lucky film? I am not a made in china person at all, but I would like to try a roll for kicks. Their website says they even have a transparency film. That I would really like to see.

I bought some Lucky film the other year on ebay.

Search for 'Lucky SHD' or 'Lucky 100'. I think the seller was cowy07.

There's a small photo manufacturing company under the Nova name in India, see:

No website shown, but an email contact.

I wasn't aware that any coating was going on in India; but then, there are lots of things that I don't know about.

Re-packaged Ilford would be my guess...but a guess is all it would be.

The film was indeed from india and while i only processed one roll of it, the results i saw make me think this emulsion is pretty rough. I don't mean that in a negative way, the grain was large the tonal range wasn't gentle and the base of the film looked grey. Ide love to see more results from this material.

At 50 US cents / 36 exposure roll, it's hard to beat Nova aka Sterling from value for money perspective but you should be prepared for surprises. It's basically some old emulsion [rumored to have been sourced from somewhere within the erstwhile Iron Curtain countries] and manufactured without any meaningful quality control. I have even noticed variations within the same roll! However, as stated above, hard to beat it at its price point - some of my shots here are with Nova / Sterling.
