My new/old camera came with 8x10 holders and some film. There wasn't supposed to be any film, so it wasn't described, the seller must have just tossed it in. And, of course, the seller is out of touch for 2 weeks now.

Clue 1) I can't read his notation but on an Arista 400 box, it appears to have been relabelled by the seller to say UNEXP OSEO(?) FILM which I take to mean unexposed something film or possibly unexpired.

Clue 2) I didn't know the holders were loaded and pulled a darkslde out. It also had the same note on it, and the notch code is a small/shallow 'u'. (Not a 'V', a 'u'

I looked at a number of sites but didn't see that code. There is a ref here on APUG to a site with a list of them but the URL is now dead.

So, can anyone help me not waste this stuff? Do you know what it is? And does anyone know a definitieve notch code site?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Richard

Agfapan 25. You're rich!

Well, it's good to know I've finally hit the jackpot. But what is the nature of this great wealth?

To a man with only a hammer, the whole world is a nail, and my only hammer is PyroCat-HD. Any ideas on that score? I've got 15-20 sheets of this stuff.

Cheers, Richard

Unfortunately, I only have an unventilated room to use and it cannot be made light-tight. So, I have to use drums on rollers.

Ebay! Agfapan 25 hasnt been available in sheet film for years. You arent going to learn to make the most of it in 20 sheets, but you might be able to buy a lot of your favorite film by seeling it to somoene who already knows it.

I don't know about 8x10, but the 5x7 JandC Classic 400 I bought a couple of months ago has a very shallow "u" notch. The box I'd bought before that had a deeper "u" notch.

I was able to catch the previous owner after all. He said that it actually IS the old Arista 400 stuff from Freestyle, so it should be repackaged HP5+.

There goes my wealth again... A mere pauper with 20 sheets of Ilford...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm sorry it isn't the Agfapan 25 though!

Cheers,
Richard
