I had this morning a bitter surprise when I saw only Fuji CA available in color paper sheets. No more Endura or CA DPII (my favourite). I asked by email and Nordfoto confirmed that there was no mistake.

Really sad... Looking already for ways to slit myself.

Do really want to slit a roll? That is a major endeavour, compared to just cut off rectangulary from a roll of apt width.

Fortunately, cutting it yourself isn't too difficult. There are many ways to do this, ranging from very haphazard with just a few bits of scrap wood and a knife (plus steel nerves and much care!) to more elaborate contraptions to facilitate the process.

I myself constructed a very basic roll dispenser from scrap pieces of wood lined up to an old rotary cutter. While it's hard to get millimeter precision, it's more than good enough for my purposes and fairly quick to work with.

So don't be sad. Rolls of Endura can still be purchased and as long as that is the case, you can still enjoy it.

I am just looking around components so far. A paper roll for 40€, a roll dispenser for 60€, I think I can borrow a paper cutter.... With 100 € seems that I can do a good trial to see how feasible it is, and if it is succesfull only the 40€ of the paper roll will be wasted.

You do not need a roll-dispenser, just a selfmade holder, if at all.

What is very useful though is a cutter of roller or guillotine type, and a length arrest.

I spent exactly €0 on my dispenser/cutting rig. All scrap bits and pieces and a roller cutter I got for free from a friend who preferred a guillotine (fortunately he doesn't cut in the dark!)

I see (well...) the issue. But if one proceeds the right way, the fingers will stay on. There even are guillotine cuttters with some protective means.
But yes, roller cutters are fool-proof.

Agreed sad news. I've been buying cut Endura from Nordfoto for a few years.

I've noticed that occasionally stocks run dry and I've always thought that was when they commissioned a new batch to be cut. Are you sure this is a definite never again rather than just running out of stock?

Yes it does seem strange. If Nordfoto has the equipment and expertise then why stop permanently. On the other hand if the job was outsourced then maybe the contractor now wants too much money to make it viable or it is a one-man band and he/she has retired

In the USA we haven't been able to buy Kodak cut sheets for many years. New slogan "Make Alaris Cut Sheets Again" MACSA! Need to get some cheap red hats made up.

The plan is not

They confirmed me by email that this is not a temporary thing.

The plan is to do a trial with a roller trimmer of a friend and an old color paper roll in daylight. The trimmer is very basic but would be enough to evaluate the feasiblity.

Why should it be not feasible??
A lot of people do so.

Only thing to consider is the roller slide being strong enough to withstand evading the rather thick paper and turn a bit oblique which should result in a bad cut.
Also the static knife should be sharply edged. With the rotary knife turning oblique it will form a bevel at its counterpart.

But one could cut badly in oversize and re-cut later with a guillotine cutter...

Should be feasible to me... I don't consider myself a handy person

If it works would be very nice. Fuji has paper finishes and sizes in rolls I haven't used with mordfoto sheets .I have very much curiosity about the textured finishes like leaher, silk, velvet, linen, pearl, canvas...
