Mexican living in Mexico. Dipped my toes in photography with a Kodak Brownie Six-20 3LR (Three Lens Reflex) that I extracted from my tightwalleted father as a 1959 Xmas gift by blackmailing him on keeping mum about the true ID of Santa to my kid bro, 5 years my younger.
Shooting uninterruptedly ever since. My first "serious" camera, a Pentax Spotmatic is still with me since 2007. Hit the darkroom in 1998 through a relative that coached me and led me to purchase my first enlarger, a Durst M300 that I would take out of my boarding room closet, assemble it and proceed to set up my makeshift darkroom in my bathroom Saturday nights. A collapsible table in the shower and black plastic curtains attached with (then new) velcro.
Learned color (AGFA) in 1972 and stopped doing RA4 in 2006 that I found printing digitally gave me purer colors than Supra II. I still do my own C41; local labs are pigsties.
Closed the enlarger part of my darkroom in 2016 when I found Baryta coated fiber based digital paper gave me B&W prints indistinguishable from my wet ones. Nowadays I just process my film, both B&W as color negs.
Have many questions about new techniques and DIY soups (paRodinal mainly). Care to orient me to the proper forum to ask?
TIA, Jorge M. Treviño.
