Here is a clean Nikkor 43-86mm 3.5 in pre Ai nikon F mount.
A few specks of dust inside which is common for a push pull zoom of this era.
Glass & aperture blades are clean. Focus & zoom action smooth. Aperture ring clicks smooth.

These don't have the best rep but stopped down a bit it's fine.

As always I allow a a reasonable time to inspect for any defects but this is in fine shape.
