Bought this before I knew what I was doing in the world of film processing. Figured out you need an actual darkroom to use the stainless tanks. :whistling:

So, I have no use for this. Tank and reels are clean.

$59 including US priority (2-3 day) shipping and fees. International buyers pay actual shipping, duties, taxes, fees, etc.

You don't need a darkroom. Buy a changing bag. Its a black lightproof bag with elastic armholes so you can have your hands inside to work. Lets you load reels and tanks with the lights on! I've used one for 25 years with steel tanks and roll film. Works great.

I have a changing bag, but these (AFAIK) aren't watertight, and would spill out during inversions, no?

FYI - this has been sold (eBay).

PS - the selling price here was supposed to be $50 incl shipping. Fat fingers.

You don't use the changing bag while you are developing.

Just while you are loading the film into the reels, and putting on the lid.

Then you bring them out into the light, where all the filling, agitation and changing of fluids happens.

A little leakage isn't uncommon, but if you wear gloves and work over a sink or tray it doesn't matter.

I don't know why, but something made me think that SS tanks weren't light-tight, and weren't able to be used in daylight. I have other SS tanks that are no way light tight. Maybe the Nikors are?

I've never encountered a non-light tight SS tank - maybe if you found one that was seriously damaged.

I probably have owned and used dozens over the years, and sold many, many more (a long time ago).

The tanks do need to have the correct lids on them.

And many of them leak at least a little tiny bit, but usually not enough to be more than a nuisance.

Hmm... so I just went back and looked at the other SS tanks I have, and yup, they look light-tight. I have no idea why I thought they weren't. I bought them when I was just getting started, and I probably didn't know what I was looking at. I thought they wouldn't work, so I've been using the Paterson Super System 4 from the beginning. I feel silly now.... Just glad I didn't actually need the 220 tank - I only do B&W myself, so no kickin' myself too badly!
