What a beauty! If I did not already have a Leica M rangefinder and lenses, I would grab this quickly. I have read that this 50 1.4 was reformulated and coated to be one of the finest 1.4s in 2000.

What’s the patch like?

Better than my Contax IIIA but not as clear as the Leica M. This seems to match the general consensus of users. When I first got the Nikon I found the rangefinder patch was easier to use than other rangefinders I've used except for the M7, MP, etc.

as someone who has used pretty much every rangefinder system out there, I'd concur with this statement. The nikon rfs are great but not equal to leica rfs
