Hello,

I recently bought a Nikon One Touch point and shoot camera. The first roll of film I used with it turned out great, had no issues (except the counter would not rewind back to "s"). However, my second attempt at using the camera failed. I noticed that the camera's counter did advance after I pressed the shutter button, and that the take up spool does wind, but for some reason the spool is not pulling the film with it. If I press the shutter with the back door open, the spool winds and takes the film with it perfectly fine. However, once I shut the door and press the shutter, the spool winds but does not take the film with it. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be wrong, possible resources, and how I may go about fixing it? Thank you for any help you can provide!

Is it humid there? I ask because I've experienced this exact issue only once - on Maui where it was very humid. My hypothesis is that the humidity caused the film to stick to something in the film path (probably the pressure plate?).

Oh, and welcome!

No, it isn't humid over here yet so I don't think it could be that.

And thank you for the welcome! I'm incredibly new to photography so I'm excited to join this community

Check the film door side with the pressure plate. Does it look correctly positioned?

I believe it is correctly positioned. I've attached images.

I lightly touched it and noticed it is a bit loose - not sure if this is normal or if it should be tighter.
