Nikon One-Touch (L35AF), a "Cult" classic

Here is an other model, perhaps the latest (the third ?).
All plastic, with integrated lens cover, screw in filters and 6v. lithium battery.
The lens is "macro" but I don't know the minimal distance because I haven't yet tried the camera...

That was the third and final model.I believe it had DX codeing too.

This brings back a lot of memories. I remember selling a lot of those Nikons along with the Canons, etc., back in the early to mid 80s.

Everything on it works and I've even used the self-timer. There are a few things I've discovered:

- the battery cover has a tendency to pop loose; I simply put tape over it while I'm using it
- the shutter release lock swivels a bit too easily; perhaps that's just an issue with my camera
- the camera feasts on batteries
- mine didn't rewind fully and, not believing the frame counter, I popped the back open with 10 frames that got exposed; perhaps the batteries didn't have enough power to do a full rewind -- anyway, the only solution is to go into a dark closet, pop the back open a bit, then re-initiate the rewind, perhaps repeating as necessary -- or, maybe this is a fault of my camera

Always refreshing to read an analysis that doesn't simply praise the camera, but points out negative aspects experienced with the camera.

Never heard of that kit, looks neat. I need something like that like I need a hole in the head, but it looks like a real travel kit system for the serious but space constricted film traveller.

Any links, or is it so old, the link is like a missing link?

It is probably pretty old. I got it from Dante Stella when he placed an ad here or on RFF. It is a bit cheesy at best! The photo of the bush was taken without either of those ad on's.

Out riding in the desert a little over a week ago. Camera with me was the l35af loaded with TriX and a yellow filter screwed on the front. Can't beat the performance of this little cheap camera. AA's easy to find/buy at any gas station, the ability to use proper filters, a 1.5 stop exposure adjustment tab, and a sharp lens semi-fast f2.8 35mm lens all in a compact, mostly metal package. What more do you need?

I've been searching the internet for a solution to my particular problem but cannot seem to find anyone with the exact same issue. The issue is this: After I finished my last roll of film, during which the camera worked perfectly, the usual process occurred, that is the shutter became stiff and ceased to allow me to depress it, and I rewound the film. However, when I loaded up new film the camera did not advance to the 1st frame. Nor did it allow me to press the shutter, it was still stiff and stuck. It seems as if the camera is no longer recognising film being loaded, and hence is not advancing or allowing the shutter to be pressed. I have changed the batteries, cleaned the contacts and used several different film cartridges.

Any help. or advise would be appreciated!
