Nikon N90 af doubt

Hi, this is my very first message in APUG

I´m a spanish photographer, use to have a Nikon F70 for some analog projects, but now I´m studing my next step.

I like the Nikon F100 above F90 (N90 is the us) just because it has the AF-ON button, I´m very use to use it.

But, N90 is easier to find and if I even get the F100 I would still like to have a second body.

My question is: Do you now if you can swicht AE-L button in N90 to AF-ON or at least AF-L? (in digital pro Nikon you can do this).

As far as I know, this is not possible. I also like back button focussing and miss it on this camera, but the F90 is a great camera and as a backup body it is very capable and probably more durable than the F100.

No, not normally. Maybe if you have the computer software and the data cable you might be able to do that.
Normally you use the AF-L button on the front of the body.

In my not so humble opinion the Nikon F-100 was the best 35mm camera ever built.

Ok, so Ill go for the F100. AF-ON is very interesting for my photo series, and I also want to use my Sigma Art lens, and as far as I know F100 can handle it but N90 only in widest apperture, isn´t it?. Thanks mates

Nikon F100 IIRC has compatibility with almost all Nikon lenses (AF-D, G, Ai, etc) except the couple of strange electronic diaphragm that were recently released. I have a Nikon F80, which is to be found cheap as the F90's but a tier down the F100 and lacks some features (also the weight of the F100 and F90). I am happy with the F80 and can imagine how the F100 can be quite a bit better.

Nowadays it can be a bit difficult to restraint wanting a F80, F90 and F100

MMmm just one more question. I´ve noticed that F80 and F100 has diaphragm dial on the front, not the F90. So, would F80 an F100 work fine with Sigma Art new lens using manual?, not the F90?. Thanks in advance
