Nikon N75 Review

The viewfinder on the 80 is absolutely magic. Big and pretty bright for a modern small SLR (semi collimated, underprioritized and probably with pentamirror instead of prism, as they are).
The LCD grid overlay is totally worth the slight drop in luminance.

This is a chart from WIKI. I think it is correct in showing the dates of introduction of the cameras under discussion. In general the later the camera was introduced, the more advanced the autofocus and metering.
So, discounting the F6, the most recent of these plastic cameras was the N/F75.

I think in the thread I mentioned looking for an N/F80, but wound up getting an F6 instead. I was kind of pushed into getting the F6 because it was the last one B&H had and I did not want to pass it up. It was but an import; I had already missed out on all of the Nikon USA F6 cameras.

In addition to what has already been mentioned, there's some small differences in the shutter release button in the N80 and N75. The N80 includes a threaded release cable socket and a 'smooth' actuation. The N75 lacks the release socket and has a 'clicky' actuation, more akin to a mouse button.

From a tactile standpoint I prefer the N75's 'clicky' shutter release button.

I picked up an N70 “as-is” for a song. I like the neat viewfinder display, but what’s with the graphics on the LCD?

I believe they call it monkey cinema in Germany.

Standard threaded release is a very good thing.
How’s the speed on the screwdriver on the 75?

I am using a N75 as an automated P&S. It weighs less with a 50mm lens than a Leica M6 and lens and is slightly bulkier. Think I have 3 at present all
bought cheap.
If one breaks I just use another.
