Nikon N2020 and AF-S G lens.

I know that it won't AF but then the AF on this camera is defective so it won't AF any lens for that matter. If I simply mount the lens on the camera the over and under exposure arrows flash. It means that the aperture ring isn't set at the minimum aperture. By pushing the meter coupling level all the way and hold it there it thinks that the lens aperture ring is set at minimum. I think it would work in S and P mode if somehow I could get the coupling to stay there without damaging the camera.
