I have an MN-2 battery pack which I bought used and recelled them about 10 years ago. It worked great but now I need to recell it again. I couldn't find the same cells I used before. Anyone knows where I can get the same cells again?

What cells are they?

I used NiMh cells in a Metz battery with excellent results, maybe they'll work for yours.

I used these
http://www.tenergy.com/10300
but they are no longer available. They have to be smaller than regular AA because there are 14 cells in the pack to give it the extra voltage to drive the motor to 5.5 fps otherwise it's only 3.8 fps with 8 AA's. I use the rechargeable battery for speed not for economy as I don't use it enough to worry about battery cost.

I got some replacement cells for one of mine a few months ago from an ebay seller in China.

Transaction no longer in my history but pretty sure I got these. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-x-AA-Ni-C...%3A56bd6ff415d0abda6d3cdc87fffffb48%7Ciid%3A1

Original cells fitted by Nikon were only 270mh. These are 400 so hold more charge. Read you need to run a full charge on the MH-2 & then run it for another hour to fully charge the increased capacity. One day I will get round to recelling my pack. Got a second one that works OK so its a low priority. On a mobile so hope link works. Will edit in the morning when on a PC if it doesn't.

Would using lithium primary as batteries give that extras voltage? Would be expensive in the long run, though

The NiCad pack not only supply extra voltage but it also has a raised piece to tell the motor drive that it's installed.

Sorry for resurrect an old thread but I am so procrastinated that I only did it last night. I bought 16 2/3 AA NiMH rated at 800mAH for a total of $30 including shipping and I used 14 of them to rebuild the pack. It took me less than 1 hr to do it. The pack work fine now.
