This is probably one of the sharpest lenses you can purchase that is made by Nikon - PERIOD!
This lens is used as a benchmark for which other lenses are held against.
It has zero distortion and practically zero chromatic aberration.
The lens design is very simple, with five groups & six elements.
It does not require a lens hood based on its design.

B&H Photo still sells this lens for $450.

Glass is free of scratches and free of mold, and lens performs excellently.
Price is firm at $160.

If you package it and get the label from PP or USPS.gov You just drop it in the mailbox. No waiting involved.
Insurance and signature if you want

Post offices have a limit on the size/weight of the package that can be dropped - Thanks for your advice, though.

Nope -- metered mail is accepted in the bins. When you buy postage online, it's all metered mail, so it's good to go. It's actually very easy.

In other news, I agree that this is a very sharp lens. I actually used this for my normal lens for a few years.
