Is there anyway to tighten a lens's focus ring? I bought a used 35mm lens off KEH and the glass is great but the focus ring is a little loose for my taste. I didn't want to send it back and i can live with it the way it is but is there anyway to tighten it?
Should i just rub some dirt on it?

Sounds like it needs some grease.
I would take it to a professional (if you are not experienced in this yourself)

To expand on that, grease is used in the helicoid to dampen the focus. Different types are used for different lenses, even within a manufacturer.

Its possible the original grease either separated/moved around and is dampening it too little or you just like more resistance than it originally had. Any camera tech could probably take a look and deal with it.
