I have been using Nikon NX software for years now and had intended to upgrade. however NX2 is no longer available. I 'phoned Nikon and they sent me a link to Nikon NX-i. .
I had not known about this before but it is miles better than I was using before and whats more it is free. As I understand it I cannot post the link here, users will have to check their website for their own copy
I just downloaded it from the disc which came with my D90. I don't see any way to crop an image with NX1. A friend has NX2 and cropping is easily accomplished. Am I missing something here?

Never having been a huge fan of NX-2 I'm unsure why anyone who did like it would bother with this "upgrade" because it is more a picture organiser than an editing tool in that it lacks control points - much lauded but, IMHO, underwhelming. I'll grant it is much faster than NX-2 but the speed is useful for not much more than browsing. I have had NX-2 on a single computer for many years as I sometimes use it for applying certain Nikon lens corrections but NX-i was quickly deleted after a brief trial. I've also read that NX-i cannot read raw files from some of the latest Nikon cameras and that it will not co-exist with NX-2 - an issue I did not encounter because I trialled it on a different computer.
