Want the Nikon AI rabbit ears ("fork") from this lens or a junker Vivitar Series 1 28-90mm lens for this part.

The fork on the lens I bought was bent and broke when I tried to straighten it.

Please reply by direct messaging.

If you know someone with a vise, a file, a hacksaw, and a drill, it would be very easy to make from a small piece of steel.

Have one from a Vivitar 28mm f2.8 which I butchered to fit a Mamiya 645 lens (didn't work). Free if you think it could work.

That Vivitar lens was made by Kino Precision and many other Nikon-fit Kiron or Vivitar lenses from the period will have the same (single screw) fork. Here's one that sold for US$2.50 recently:

Even if you have to pay a little more for a lens you can probably resell it for AI users after removing the fork!

Hope this helps.

Why would you want a Nikon AI rabbit ear? If you need the ear then your camera is pre AI and a pre AI ear would work fine. If your camera is AI then you don't need the ear.

My lens is AI, but with my Nikkormat, I have to use stop down metering with the prong missing.. That isn't my idea of "works fine:.
I suppose I can get buy without one--if I have to, but I'd prefer full aperture metering. Wide open, the lens is only f2.8.
The pre AI prong impedes visibility of the aperture numbers on the AI lens.

But pre AI camera like your Nikkormat doesn't have the ADR and thus it doesn't impedes the visibility of the aperture number any way.

I know what I want, thank you very much.
There are no forks on eBay at the moment, but if I can't stir one up here, my plan is as outlined by Heritage camera.
