Hi all, I'm thinking of bidding on a Fm3a but it's missing the ring that screws on the viewfinder. I looked and can't find a replacement. Maybe it's the same as another model? I don't want to bid if I cant source one.
Thanks,
Steve

Common size for FA, FE, and FM series. Plentiful supply seems to exist.

I'm going to pass. Turns out the seller purchased it two weeks ago from Japan. He said he is reselling due to finding he prefers a rangefinder. I found the original sellers listing. Neither seller mentioned a dent or chipped paint or missing part. Both said nearly mint.

For future reference, this is the same part for FA/FE/FM2/FM3A. Readily available, I just bought one for my FM2.

Japanese sellers nowadays seem to describe gear run over by a bus as Excellent ++++++ or Mint -...

Except it is rarely Japanese sellers, but people profiting from the reputation of Japanese sellers, selling out of Japan. This is a known problem - and if you buy from Japan you need to be able to differentiate.

I find this to be very true. There's the long established sellers that offer very nice items, no surprises. It's the young crowd that advertise EX+++++ nonsense that you need to scrutinize their listings.
I've bought many items from Japan sellers. I'm picky and I've been very satisfied.
