Hi all,

Sorry if posting in wrong thread. I'm a noob here.

I have a problem with my nikon FE. I guess the mirror or the shutter if the cause. Could I have your opinion? Here are some faulty pics. They were mostly taken at high shutter speed (for an FE, ie1000).

Thanks!

You have 2 problems.
The black across the width of the frame is the shutter.
The bright streak across the height of the frame is a light leak.

Check the batteries or install fresh batteries for the shutter problem. The instructions say to use 2 1.55V silver oxide batteries or 1 3V lithium battery. The 3V battery available when the camera was new was found not to be reliable and caused exposure problems.
Replace the light seals for the light leak.
