Nikon FE: diopter correction + eyecup ?

I've just bought a Nikon FE. I love it! But I want to get it to work well with my somewhat compromised eyesight.

So, a couple of questions about diopter correction lenses (for the eyepiece) etc...

-I've read that there's already a +1 correction in the viewfinder. If you want to get to +3 in total, do you order a +2 or a +3 correction lens? (I.e. does the figure on the correction lens represent the _total_ correction, or just the correction of the lens?)

-Can you use a rubber eyecup along with a correction lens? And if so, how do they fit together?

-Is the DK-3 type eyecup the correct one? (There seems to be some confusion on this point among eBay sellers, at least.)

Nikons are set to a virtual viewing distance of 1 meter, this being a comfortable distance for most people. The eyepiece lens is a flat round of glass and the result is a -1 diopter finder.

If you would like the screen to appear at infinity then you get a '0' eyepiece lens, which is actually a +1 diopter. This is a good choice for nearsighted users who want to use the camera with normal distance glasses - especially as they age and lose accommodation or succumb to cataract surgery and have no accommodation and eyes always focused at infinity.

If you are nearsighted and want the screen to appear at 0.5 meters (20 inches) you would get a -2 lens. There is no -1 lens, as that is what the unmarked standard issue lens provides.

Users who are 'past farsighted' and whose distance glasses are positive diopter (magnifying lenses) and want to shoot without glasses will need to add a + diopter eyepiece lens equal to their distance prescription; this will make the no-glasses screen appear at a glasses-on infinity distance.
