Yeh the n90 is a nice camera, and a great camera at the common $20-50 price Ive seen around. But for me, its just to large. I prefer manual focus lenses. So I like a split focus screen, which the FA and FE/FE-2 have.
I look at it this way. the 35mm camera body, to me, is a light tight box with built in light meter. you can have a traditional center weighted with the FE line or the more modern, but early generation matrix meter with the FA. So I use them accordingly. For neg film, both color and B&W, I use my FE-2 FM3a, F3 and so on. For slide film, I prefer the FA, N90, F4,F5, F100 and so on.
for me all get the job done. I have figured out my exposures for each camera based on many rolls used thru them. so I know what to expect, and if shooting in A mode, when to add or subtract expose. they are just more tools to use. but years ago, when people were almost giving them away, it became easy to get them and build a small collection. I dont need them all, they were just to good to pass up.
