Hello there!

Does anyone have a Nikon F6 that they'd like to sell?
I would also be interested in a Nikon F100.
I am not overly concerned with aesthetics - I just want the camera to be in good working order.

I have a nice F100 I'd like to sell. No problem with the back, etc. Please make offer.
 
I have the Nikon F100 which is my first choice for 35mm photography.

Truly is a great camera to shoot with. I'll have both the F6 and the F100 loaded and I really to love them both. Very satisfying to shoot with and great compatibility with a wide range of glass.

Indeed they are! Have one now and picking up another next week. I just stole one of the deals of the month off of Marketplace, going to pick up a Hasselblad 500 with 80mm and 150mm lenses, filters, light meter plus a set of studio flashes for $500 CDN ($370US). Usual story, late husband's camera, wife wants it to go to a good home. Jumped on it 13 minutes after it was posted, and ONLY have to drive 5 hours to get it... First step is admitting you have a problem, but I just can't help myself.

I have trouble switching back and forth. I have both, and with the exception of some specific use cases, either one is about as good a "modern" SLR as you could get. Both meter perfectly, handle almost the same, and I can't say enough good about them.

But the controls are ever so slightly different. Like the mirror lockup past the timer on the left switch -- I occasionally shoot in the dark and remembering which is which is way easier than figuring out what those tiny symbols are in low light.

My solution is to just shoot one for a few rolls then, if I feel like it, shoot the other. Never load both at the same time and I don't run into silliness where I am reaching for controls in the wrong place.
 
Ha! Thanks much for alerting me and everyone else to that listing. I did snooze and lose but luckily I am also broke and can't possibly afford one now! I did buy an F100 instead, and it is a lovely camera. Perhaps some day! Many thanks to one and all!
 
Well if you have the F100, it will do everything you need it to, it is a great camera. Now you just need to spend the money you don't have on film!
 
I enjoyed the F100 much more than the F6. The feel of the camera, the rawness. The F6 is so damped. Like rallying in a rolls royce.

You're good.

I use both interchangeably. The F100 is 90% of the F6, but in practice it's actually 100% of the F6 if you don't use a few very specific things. You'll be super happy with it, it is just a great camera.
 

To extend the life of the F100's back latch, do not just push it close, letting it snap closed (the way one would normally with any camera). Hold the release catch up, close the back, then release the catch.
The F100's latch is made of a type of plastic (nylon?) and is notoriously fragile with age.
 
Isn’t there another weak point in the F100? The plastic rewind fork I believe
 
The diopter adjustment knob is quite fragile and when it breaks, it's a nightmare to repair...
