My F5 got wet while camping. Strong winds blew my tent over and there was a container with water that got blown over, too. When I recovered the camera the LCD was blank and the mirror was locked up. I let it dry out a few days and then put in new batteries, but the mirrror didn't come down. So when I got home, I put in another fresh set of batteries. The two LCD screens display all of the possible combination of info that they can but it is not the normal display and the mirror is locked up.

Is there something further I can do myself or do I need to send it to a repairman?

If I need to send it out, what are some choices besides Nikon USA?

Thanks.

Put it in a bucket of rice, that will draw out any water left in the camera.

Thanks for the advice!

I think I can get an Ex F5 from KEH for about
$285 without a prism which I happen to have 2 of.
