Nikon F5 - Is F1.8 50mm lens for Nikon DSLR compatible with Nikon F5

Hi, Tomorrow I am going to get Nikon F5 from a APUG user. I have two lenses from my Nikon D7200.
F1.8 50mm
Normal basic lens.

Is this lens are compatible with Nikon F5. If not which lens I need to get, I am basically looking for portrait lenses...

Please guide me......

I use a Nikkor 50mmf/1.8 E series on my F mount Nikons;so;it should be compatible and it is very good BTW. for a portrait lens ,look for an 85mmf/2,which is also excellent.

If the lens is usable on the D7200 it's not a pre AI lens. All Nikkor 50mm lenses are FX lenses. There is no Nikkor 50mm E lenses (I mean electronic diaphram and not the E series which works fine).
So it's usable on the F5.

There are 50mm Nikkor E-series lenses.I have one;It's f/1.8

Chan was mentioning another type of E lenses, not the Series E manual focus lens you know. This one is very recent and only a handful of digi-idiots can use it. It is expressed by an E after the aperture. So, it would be an AF-S 50mm f/1.8E, which doesn't exist.
These new E lenses got rid of the last mechanical link between body and lens: the auto aperture lever.
If you read properly Chan's post that's what he says.
Yes, there is a 50mm /1.8 Series E.
