Nikon F5 Checklist

As you may know, I bought a nikon F5. Its arriving tomorrow!

When I get it, what do I need to check to see if stuff works? Like what do I need to check over when I get it?

I'm thinking

shutter
no LCD bleed
AF works
Meter works
Batteries load properly

Any more that you guys might have?

Excellent camera. I'd run a roll of color transparency film through it to see how accurate the meter, shutter and camera to lens aperture are all working.

I bought an F5 recently and I'm very happy with it. Considering the price one can get it at there is no reason to buy an F6 IMHO. Some say that the F6 is easier on batteries but so far I'm still working on the original set.

Just give it a good going over in all the modes.

Whats the standard screen in it? EC-B? Eric, where is the shooting mode selector on the F5?

The mode selector is done by pressing a button just in front of the LCD display and then using the thumb wheel to change the mode. Really easy. Frankly I always leave it on A anyway. As far as the standard screen mine came with just your basic screen that shows where your focus points are.
