So my beloved Nikon F4s (now an F4e) has been experiencing more and more LCD screen blotch on both the screens. As far as I can tell (and as far the Multi-Data back is telling me), the camera is still working great... it's just a big heavy chunk of camera.

I'm assuming that, should the LCD blotch get worse and cover the entire thing, it's not really going to affect the rest of the operations for my camera?

No, it shouldn't affect. You just wouldn't be able to see what it is doing.
The 2 screens you mention is that the one in the body and the other in the DP-20?

The upper case display (Exposure compensation and frame counter) is typically the first one to go bad. Have yet to see a bad lower display in person.
The camera should work fine without them though.

And if the upper one fails, if I'm not mistaken, a viewfinder replacement would solve that problem, correct?

The upper display is integrated into the camera body, replacing the finder would only change the lower display unfortunately.
