So, I have a Nikon F4 and the lower LCD doesn’t show anything. Looks like it might be due to the inner gold pins in the DP20 finder stuck in their holes. Anyone ever open the finder and unstick the pins? Looks like maybe 2 screws holding a cover piece down.

I tried. They move a little but makes me think it's a spring under the pin that's compressed or stuck also. And there is a third screw holding the cover down.

It is very unlikely that all the pins are stuck. Is one pin different from the rest?

A spritz of CRC contact cleaner will do no harm. If a pin is stuck it may help free it - spritz and then work the defective pin up and down.

If all the pins look and act the same then the problem is more than likely elsewhere. Examine the little gold dots the pins make contact with - do they look clean?. Again a spritz of contact cleaner won't hurt.

If the problem persists the DP-20 may be broke, or the F4 may be broke. Do you have, or can borrow, another F4/DP-20 - it would let you isolate the problem to the body or the finder.

The pins all seem to be independent. Only the inside 6 are stuck ( or bent ) inside the finder. The gold pins all look about the same through a loupe--not damaged. Also, no other F4 or DP20 finder around. The body does work fine with a slight tiny mount of LCD bleed.
