Hi. Does anyone know how to remove the top cover from this particular camera? I have already run into trouble with the power switch collar.

It's bad enough that you have to carefully remove a cheap vinyl sticker from the speed selector. I can't for the life of me figure this one out.

The focus screen fell out of this piece of cr@p!

OK. So I found the service manual which shows that there is a removable cap on the shutter button with a screw underneath it.

I have a chance to return this otherwise mint condition camera for a full refund. What would you do?

I'd bring it back and get an N8008s (get the s version, the s means it has a spot meter feature). Much, much better camera, takes AA batteries, meters w/ third party lenses, etc. You can usually get them for $25-$50.
